I don't see why not but info on them says to wash your hands after use, so see what others say in case they're not intended for edible plants.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

These crystals are made from polyacrylamide, and are apparently widely used in agriculture, so are presumably safe to use on food crops and in the way you propose.

As ever, there are slight doubts about its safety under certain conditions - you may like to peruse this Wiki offering before you decide.
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
