like many of you  I've used both  paper pots and toilet rolls and as said I found the both fell apart after watering  my wife bought me a couple of paper pot makers

its a good idea if it works especially for parsnips and I have tried carrots pelleted seed with unfortunately  little success so any advise about growing in paper or toilet rolls is always welcome because  its the best way for me to grow  parsnips

I used to do this for anything that liked a long root run - and for sweet peas in particular. But they’re fiddly to fill, so now I can’t be bothered. I plant my sweet pea seeds 5 to a normal 4” pot, and sow parsnips etc direct.

I just unravel the loo rolls and chuck them in the compost.
I don't really look like my avatar.

Peas in toilet rolls?

You need a lot of those for a half decent row!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Seeds are SOWN, planting's for plants (and bulbs & tubers)!

I just make a very broad, shallow trench, chuck a whole load of peas in and cover them up. Works fine. Am all for minimum effort!

I've sometimes used them for sweet peas, though, I don't grow as many of them  :)
