Oldest Chook

Out of interest, how old is or was the oldest chicken you had?

I have a very healthy, still laying Welsummer who is now 5 1/5 years old.
A handy girl with a cordless screwdriver.

My oldest ones are the Serama boys Foggy and Alphie, who have both just turned 7.

I've had a couple of hens make it to 10 before but the oldest ones I have at the moment are Alphie's girls who are bantam orps and are 6.  They laid a few eggs this spring as well  :)

Two 5 1/2 yr old light Sussex, both lay everyday from February this year so far.  Only two months off each year, bless them. I

Weeble is 6 1/2 and is a Skyline.  She lays blue eggs - but only occasionally these days.
