Cat flea-free summer?
« on: August 15, 2015, 10:58 »
Though we don't treat them as regularly as we should (i.e. when they start scratting) they seem to be fairly free of the little blighters this summer. One has decided to sit on my knee about 3 o'clock and, having found their flea comb whilst having a tidy up, I gently started grooming her which she has really taken to. No flea dirt - nothing. I managed to groom some of the second one and - again - nothing. Anyone else found this?

We haven't had any problem this summer, touch wood.  I put it down to there not being many other cats around, but there are a few extra visitors and still all is okay.  Hold breath ....

Our cats keep themselves flea-free by rolling in dust at any and every opportunity. I have to say the same is not true of the dogs, and this year is terrible. It's costing us an arm and a leg this year in collars, pipettes and shampoos, plus vet bills as one of the dogs is allergic to them. Roll on winter!
