Title: Oxford Allen Scythe
Post by: Clarky86 on October 27, 2017, 20:51
I recently acquired an Allen Scythe from a house move. I've been informed that it works and the guy who owned it before even left me a little battery to get it fired up. I haven't yet got it out the shed but I think he did some alterations to get it to be an electric start.

I've been looking high and low for one of the attachments for it, the Plough.

Does anybody have one or any experience of using one?
Be interesting to see how well they work.

P.s, if anybody knows of one, I could be interested in one  :D

Were the ploughs any good ?
Having the plough in front of the power source with a guide wheel way out in front does not seem to have stood the test of time.

I know a few tractors do have front mounted ploughs but they have the power, weight and hydraulics to do it.
