Title: What goes with whiskey?
Post by: Scribbler on July 25, 2016, 10:30
As in adding fruit. Like damson or sloe gin.

Seem to remember it's blackberries?

I think you are right with blackberries.  I'm sure I have a recipe for that somewhere, but I have seen one with citrus rind and root ginger somewhere.

Found it  :)  Anything named Weyhey Liqueur can't be bad  ;)

Sloes are good with whisky too!

A late friend who did not like most spirits would sloe whisky, bacardi or brandy to smooth the taste as it does with gin.

Had many a festive season tasting session at Rons house ! :)

I do hope it's a cheap whisky!

I prefer more whisky with whisky nothing else... Single malt = small glass once in a blue moon.
                       Worth waiting for.

You do realise you will be single handedly responsible now for the increase in whisky sales! 😁😁😁

I've been instructed to make some sloe gin for the daughts this year (or next - depending when I make it).

When I was a sprog, I remember reading that George Harrison drank whisky and lemonade and I've always liked it since then...

But soda....yeugggggh...:0(

Moi   I was just looking as OH was given a large bottle of the blended stuff by a customer.  I still maintain it can't be that bad and is worth a go for the name alone

I have a batch brewing so it will be a merry old time for us all come the end of the year  :D

Anyone tried the Weyhey Whisky yet?  Oh boy  :D  All I can say is Weyhey !!!!!

I've hidden it in the back of the cupboard so I leave it alone until winterval, but it turns a cheap blended whisky into something really special  :)

Just looking at a few more liqueurs as we speak...

Found a great one in 'Jim Beam Apple', so may try and make our own!
