On Sunday Howard leant a hand... again one pull on the starter and away she went.

Six neatly earthed up rows of potatoes and half of the full plot rotovated, raked and ready for sowing / planting. That leaves just the strawberry bed to finish off and the bean trench to organise.

And..... the grass paths to mow and... more coffee making.

Today, at last, my father’s large glass cold-frame has been reassembled and the missing panes replaced. Now where to put it?

Up early to find my sweet corn had chatted so they are now nestled in loo rolls. No time for the allotment until Saturday. Have been reorganising a bed at home, tool out an old shrub that was looking sorry for itself.
My husband's a water sign, I'm an earth sign, together we make mud :-)

My gardening diary is here - go on, have a peek , you might be able to help me!

Haven't been to the plot yet but checked my bits in the garden and my spuds in bins have broken the surface.

I say my spuds they are really Florence's who is 21 months old, she is a potato fanatic. ( it's one of the only foods she can really eat with her allergies) she loves them so we wanted her to see them growing, she's been checking every day and each day so far she says " no tato's" I will show her once she gets up.

Planted 3 more rows of chitted parsnip seeds - that's it for now until I find some soil to fill the bath we've inherited.

Watered everything in the greenhouse, and really surprised to see that the radish seeds that I planted in a cat litter tray on Sunday are starting to poke through already. If this batch works, then that's the way I'll be growing them all in future, and I'll be working out what I can do with the patch of the allotment that I had earmarked for them this year.

Planted out half of my cucumbers, and tried the first tiny peas. After the best part of a year, it's nice to be reminded how good the first ones taste straight out of the pod.

I put 1 fork in and the nice bloke next door but one asked me if I wanted to borrow his mini rotavator - loved it! Can't believe how much time I saved compared to forking it all over by hand. And it's lovely and fine  :D

As I saved so much time with the rotavator I was able to plant 150 onion sets, 3 x 17ft rows of beetroot and 1 row of spring onions.

My tray of collies are coming on a treat in my mini greenhouse. As are the sweetcorn, cucumber and Marmande toms in the conversatory. Could do with planting a few more sweetcorn as I think I have more space for them than I first thought. I'd almost given up hope of any of the Golden Sunrise toms coming through but in the last couple of days all but 1 have poked through. Only 1 of the 6 chillis planted at the same time have come through so far (Latern) so will keep an eye on those. My daughter helped plant 2 trays of peas on Sunday (Greenshaft and Early Onwards) and today I bought some runner beans that I will start off this weekend.

I finally feel as though I'm achieving something - woohoo!!!!

planted up about half a dozen trays of radish, swede cauliflower, and tomatoes for the plastic 4 tier mini greenhouses in the back garden, looks like everything will be playing catch up this year.

Removed some rubbish and weeds mainly twitch grass roots, and  took it to the town skip,  would have preferred to burn the twitch grass but we are asked not to burn anything unless we really have to, because people complain.
Watered the veggies and flowers. Just before it started to rain.  Just my luck.

Well I am now ready to plant my courgettes / acorn squash, main crop Sweetcorn and onions.. Just got to get them ready for planting in a few weeks..

I spent a few hours at the plot today and got all my weed fabric set up ready for growing. A few weeks ago I made all the holes in the fabrics so today I sprinkled some general fertilizer, forked it in and raked it all flat. Then set up the fabrics.

Burning the holes                      The Onion bed                        All finished
