Big Dig Allotment TV Programme Reminder

Just to remind people who have brains like mine - sieve like that is - that the Big Dig allotment programe is on BBC2 at 10.00 am tomorrow (SUNDAY)

It runs for an hour.

Description:
A tale of two plots as Simon Mayo follows two hugely contrasting sets of allotmenteers from Cardiff and London throughout the growing season. Today it's the beginning of April and that means its planting out the first early potatoes, getting the greenhouse in order, the bean frames up and learning the secrets of bio-dynamic planting.

Is it going to be a hit or a miss? (Does anyone remember I'll give it five and David Jacobs?)

Well done that Celt :)

I was chatting to a young man on the train and I mentioned Twiggy - he did not know who I was on about. Now that made me feel really old, I didn't think there was an adult male in Britain who did not know who Twiggy was.

If it helps, John, I know who Twiggy is! (I'm 25) ;)

I've just woken up an hour before the Big Dig - excellent.  I was worried I might oversleep and miss it :D

I'm going to video it as it clashes with the Archers  - yes, I'm that sad!

I rarely get a sleep in as the boss cat has discovered licking my nose never fails to wake me up to feed him.  He used to bat at the alarm clock in an attempt to make it go off but this is far more effective.

Much as I love him, I could do without cat kisses to start the day.

Our cat employs a similar tactic to wake us up; although recently I've not been opposed to getting up, feeding her, showing her the door and then stumbling back to bed!  Quite pleased that I managed to stay awake this morning though - a sure sign that the cold is abating!

Aww... the Big Dig wasn't on here in Yorkshire - we got a programme about winter sports instead! :x I checked the listings for Yorkshire and it looks like it was never scheduled for here :(

What a total swizz - I checked the BBC web site before I posted this topic and it was clear. Our TV pages said some sports progs but htey're often wrong, but not in this case

I don't know what the BBC are up to

I'll email the TV people and see if I can get an answer.

well it's in the bbc2 listings for 10am in london but I was tucked up in bed resting because I seem to have developed a whopping great big cold on the most lovely day of the past week!    :x
wistfully hoping to one day be mostly organic gardener in North London.

Watched it all and thought it was good.  Nice to see different styles/people/locations etc. Wonder what yield the carrots in the blue bins will bring. it did remind me to put my name down for a full plot next year if one comes up.  Will watch next week definately

Heather - that cold seems to be going round.  I had it last week and felt awful - I hope you're fighting fit again soon!

What region does Cheshire come under John?  I checked the BBC this morning too and saw the programme listed!  It wasn't until I checked teletext at just gone ten that I realised it wasn't going to be shown on YTV.  I've since had a look at some other TV listing sites and it would seem that it was shown in most other counties, including Scotland :(

We get North West

If I'd known it was regional I could have used the satellite to get it.

Instead I taped some moronic  sports rubbish - as far as I'm concerned if sky sports bought every sport  that would be fine - except for Sumo. I'm in training for that, middle gets bigger every day.

Seriously though - why do they bother having regional splits (except for local news etc)

I thought it was fairly interesting but why do they bother interviewing someone who plants by the phases of the moon? It just gives us all a bad name.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Careful Noshed - my wife is quite into that sort of thing - if you look at her website you might figure why  :!:

I think there may well be something in it - but I'm a bit of a coward so  I'm not saying otherwise in case she beats me again.
