I have jooined this forum today and it looks a good place for me. We have just been lucky enough to get an allotment after a lot of searching and waiting. It won't be fully available until April next year but we have ben allowed to fill up some spaces as the bloke who is giving it up gradually harvests his stuff. Looking forward to makiing new friends here.

You're in luck! taking over a going concern is much better than one which has been left for years. I had a similar experience but the person left me all her broad beans and garlic to eat.
You can have hours of fun planning it all now - make sure you get the compost heap in the right place. I've moved mine twice...
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
