I didn't see the moon that night, so last night I went out about 10 pm, and it was a beautiful crescent shape, it was upright, and reminded me of the Man in the Moon.  :) Mrs Bouquet

I am sitting here drooling at the gammon ideas (and the sausages!).  Sadly I am not allowed, gammon, bacon etc, I have to restrict my salt to 2gms a day.  I had stir fry, only veg and noodles, it was horrid.   Back to salad again tomorrow.  :D Mrs Bouquet

Thats how I do one, jaydig!  Come to think of it, it has been a while ....  Hmm.  Inspiration strikes.

Meanwhile, it was (Co-op bargain) sausages and roast veg, plus lots of runners here tonight, with cheesy mash (a freezer find) for OH.

I am currently looking after my neighbours cat and they have a fabulous display of lavender so I think I may just have to  take my snips and a plastic bag and try some cuttings.
have tried many times before and have had no success.

Hello Everyone

Thank you so much for your replies.  I feel stupid but at the same time very relieved.  When I googled the problem the most likely cause was aminopyralid and I had tried to improve the structure of my sandy soil with horse manure.

Of course you are right because the 4th courgette, which is not suffering,  was the spare and went into a semi-shaded spot which, considering how the summer is panning out, was a prime location.

I gave them a good soaking this evening and will attempt some engineering tomorrow although I am a little reluctant to disturb the roots.  You will be impressed with me next year.

Thank you again.
