I am growing wild rocket, and it has started to flower, does this mean it is ready to harvest, or should i cut of the flowers, i dont know what to do as i have never grown this before. please can somebody tell me what i should do.

Hi & welcome to the forums.

Sad to say, flowering means it has passed its best.  Pick what leaves you can and resow (little and often).  I've given up on rocket myself since I can never get a worthwhile crop before it bolts.

damn so i should have harvested it before now . ill have to go pick what i can now, thx for the quick reply. Is it too late to plant more at this time of year?

It's worth tasting the leaves as they might still be alright but I always found wild rocket to be more bitter when it goes to flower.  You can keep sowing right through the summer so when one lot runs to seed there's more just ready to pick.

Thanks for replying, i will test it to see if it tastes any good. Well looks like i will plant some more, but how can i tell when they are ready to be harvested, so i dont mess up again ;P

As Greg says, plant in fortnightly succession thru until mid-Aug (? guessing here).

Start picking outer leaves as soon as they are a worthwhile size.  Don't pick more than 1/3rd of the plant.
