Does anyone know how to treat bacterial canker?  I think my cherry tree has it.

cut off all the effected branches peel all leaves  .clean every ,.,,, every leaf or twig off the ground .put a grease bandage around the trunk .
 my plum had it .you must make sure all the ground is clear of rubbish . spraying the remaining branches with a mild jeyes fluid helps kill any spores left / use " arbrex " on all wounds
still alive /............

Thanks again, I'll try that.  The tree looks as though it's about to give up, so I think this is it's last chance!

Interesting, why use a grease band as they are for insects not bacteria. Would seem a waste of time.

Also as well as removing infected branches/folliage you should check other branches, if the have that horrible ooz on them then they need to be removed.

not really penance as bugs can carry it back up the tree ,besides the grease band helps prevent other problems anyways so cant hurt :wink:  :D
