 My silkie cross, Elanor, hatched out five healthy chicks on 14th July.  two were sabelpoots and three pekin/silkie farmyard hybrids.  In the space of 48 hours they all started to look a little under the weather and died.  The last one died the day before yesterday.    There was no sign of a bite and there was no sign of pasty bum or parasites.  They had all been eating and drinking normally.

She is now on her own but I am reluctant to put her back with the laying flock or put other chicks under her (I have two four-day old chicks under the electric hen) in case there is an infection issue.

On the other hand I don't want to leave her on her own too long.  My thought is to give her a course of baytril or similar antibiotic just in case and leave her for aonther week to see if she seems to be healthy then return her to the laying flock.  If I give her a companion they could then catch any infection that she has.

Oh, so sorry. Not used to chicks so I have no suggestions but someone will have an idea.

Any sign of blood in the faeces?  Dropping off like that sounds like coccidiosis, unfortunately
