Get the hoe going while it’s still mild or can you cover it? Weed membrane or cardboard

o k thats means i will have to stand on the soil again and it will suppress the ground again After turning it all over

Put some boards down to distribute your weight, that’s why I have long narrow beds I don’t need to walk on it to cultivate it plus I don’t need to weed the paths 😊

Simply decide where your paths are going (Mark them with string and pegs, if that helps) and only walk on your paths.
No matter how many times you rotovate (or dig), weeds will germinate as you have brought them up into the light. You cannot expect the soil to remain weed free, without a weed control cover, or hoeing continually - as snowdrops says.
I tend to ignore the few weeds growing over winter and hoe them off again in the spring  ;)

I've said this so many times to would  be gardeners where weeds are a problem  roundup you can't beat It better than all your cardboard and poly sheeting

that's my opinion  some mite disagree but done it got the tea shirt couch grass a thing of the past after roundup but not sure if its to late in the season to use roundup now mite have to wait till spring

For me spraying is a last resort or in the case of a new plot a once or twice necessity to get it under control, if you use alternative approaches I find I don’t have to reach for the weed killer, plus I spend less money, a bit of cardboard, free manure, plenty of compost just cost time & energy. Next year I will be using glyphosate on some comfrey I cannot dig out but I bought a spot on tub that I can just dab on, I’m also using it on some bindweed in the garden that I’ve been battling for 11 years so I’m not totally against it but feel it needs to be used only when all else fails

I only use on bindweed too. A spade to dig up any dandelions and perennial weeds then hoe hoe hoe when it's dry and weeds are small).
I do need to take my own advice though as far as the hoe goes

I have sympathy with the decision to use Roundup but I would rather avoid it unless there is really no feasible alternative. The cummunity allotment I help out with has a weedy patio and path next to a wildlife pond, I wouldn't fancy spraying Roundup and adversely affecting the (beneficial) neighbouring wildlife. The plan is to lay cardboard over it until late next summer.
