Hi all :) LOng time no chat.
I am growing a few tiger cross marrows this year,they are now looking lovely and lots of flowers.
I have a very small marrow (size of a thumb) on all plants.
But they been like that for at least 1 week,maybe up to two weeks.
Now will they carry on growing or should I cut them all off ?
They seem to have stoped growing to me ?
None of the plants have produced a full grown marrow yet.
I very much look forward to anyones advice :)

i'm growing tiger cross in my tunnel and they are going crazy now with almost fully grown fruits.
mine were quite slow to produce the fruit at the start and a lot of the new fruits rotted, but now seem to have sorted them selves out.
i would say give them another couple of weeks and see what happens.

I would give them some tomato food and a good soaking .

I infact did give them a tomato feed the night befor I done this thread.
On watering last night,I went to inspect the small marrows and on touching them both,They both just fell off.
I can see loads of promise on all 4 plants with 1 marrow now defo growing :)
I have high expectations now :)

The problem of cucurbit fruits which appear to have set, grow a little, but then rot from the flower end is almost always due to lack of pollination, which can either be due to no male flowers being open at the time the female ones were, or bees and other insects having taken the day off at the wrong time. ::)
I hand-pollinate my cucurbits using an artist's paintbrush because I only grow a few of each and can't afford to leave it to chance, especially as full pollination is less likely to happen the fewer plants you have.

sounds exactly like mine were 3 or 4 weeks ago. they'll come good if they carry on doing the same. a few of mine are almost ready to harvest now, once they got going they went crazy.
i did try hand pollinating them. i can't get through the jungle of leaves now to get to the flowers so hoping the insects do it for me.

My spuds in the pots are getting a good soaking every night as they are allways bone dry again the next day.
And boy do I soak them :mad:

The panic is well and truly over :D
Infact 1 plant has 5 very healthy marrows on it :ohmy:
I have never seen that since growing them about 4 years ago.
2 are ready to be cut off :tongue2:
And I cut 1 off another plant yesterday and had it for sunday lunch,It was fab :tongue2:
