Getting ready!

Well, as I said, I have only a roof garden space 9m x 3m but I have already sown some seeds: cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes which are thriving in the kitchen until they are ready to go outside. More veg seeds waiting for later sowing, courgettes, aubergines, and herbs too.

I have the pots, bags of compost, grit for drainage and a few grow bags for the salad stuff. All waiting to set up.

Flowers sown for the hanging baskets and wall baskets, pansies, petunias, and lobelias. Marigolds, which I'll plant next to the tomatoes. Got seeds for nasturtiums and morning glory for later.

Plenty to do, and I hope to have a good crop, with less trips to the supermarket this year.

The kitchen door:

And the rest:

Will post some pics later.

regards

Peter

How good to have a garden when you are upstairs. It looks really lovely, what is the view like?

No view at all.   :(

Buildings all around,  (see photos), but quiet at the weekends.
I am on the first floor, the patio is the roof of the office below.

Nice space, its amazing what a few plants dotted about a space can do. Well done. And welcome to the forum. :D
I used to work in a helium gas factory, but I walked out, no one talks to me like that.

How Fantastic !  What an inspiration you would be to anyone who is in a flat with a small balcony.    Just goes to show what you can do with a small space - good luck. :D

bump!

Getting some of the pots and containers ready for planting in a few weeks.
There will be a few more pots later, as soon as the spring flowers finished and bulbs removed.
Grow-bags for salads, pots for toms, peppers and cucumbers.
Beans in the big tubs, when tulips finished. Also courgettes and  aubergines. The deep one is for carrots.
The seedlings are doing well in the kitchen.

BTW Aidy, the "lawn" is AstroTurf.  It's a balcony after all.

Onwards and upwards. Lots of food for very little effort. Quite looking forward to the harvest.

Making progress:

The cucumber seedlings are quite "leggy" (foreground) will they be OK?

weeeel, I bury mine up to their necks when I repot them but I'm told I shouldn't.  Too late I did it.  I hate throwing seedlings away  :D
