I have Rhode Island Reds + Light Sussex and they have stopped laying for at least a month. i have put a light in for them at night and they have plenty of food  can u help me!!!!

this time of year hens do slow down and stop laying altogether. 

How old are your hens and how long have they been with you?

I know but they wer laying 5 eggs 1 day and none the nxt i havent had 1 single egg for a month !!! they are about 1 yr old and hav been with me from feb - now (i have bought more hens between then) (latest june)

to get no eggs for a month is a bit extreme. even my six moth-eaten, clapped-out ex-'free range' hens are still popping out the odd egg or three a day. are you sure they aren't eating/hiding them?

I agree that it does seem sudden and extreme.  Hens can be very clever at hiding their laying spots so it may be worth having a good check to see if they are "laying out".

Other things to check for would be red mites and lice though it is a little late in the year and have they been wormed?

are their combs and wattles still red or have they turned a little pale?

yh i no it is I have checked all over the pen 4 eggs the one place the eggs could be are under the cabin but it is hard 2 look under there! There combs are still red (very red) no they havent been wormed I have got 3 light sussex and 5 rhode island red! most of them went through the moult 7 weeks ago and are fine now and 1 is going through it now! but at least 1 month!!!!  :blink:
