Update on Eddie the poorly silkie cockerel
« on: June 06, 2007, 19:48 »
Thurs:  First noticed Eddie was not himself. :?

Fri:  After taking him to the vets and given anti bios, he perked up a bit but still not eating properly.  He would try but seemed to have trouble.  Massaged crop, though it felt empty to me.

Sat/Sun:I got worried by the amount of weight he was losing in such a short period ( acouple of days). Anyway fed him via a syringe live yogurt (diluted) and water with a little honey disolved in it. :(

Mon:  Looked much better & was trying to eat a little. :)

Now he is back to his usual self, eating normally and getting up to mischief.  Though hasn't crowed on a morning yet.  :D

Hi Aunt Sally

Not sure what was wrong with Eddie, vet said he had some impaction of crop however when I massaged it it felt empty to me.

Following anti bio injection he briefly appeared better trying to eat and rodger the hens.

Though did not eat properly for about 3 days.  Lost loads of wheight.  And appeared miserable (slowly following the hens about but with little interaction).

By monday he was 100 0/0 better, eating and up to mischief, however still not sure what was wrong with him, maybe impacted crop, dunno, water, yoghurt & honey appeared to sought him & glad to have him back, though he is a telly addict, enjoys sitting on daughters knee & watching scooby doo.

Has been in flower beds, daffodil poisoning?
