Title: A crow is lifting my spring bulbs out of the flower bed
Post by: Gellideg on January 09, 2017, 15:40
I keep replacing the rooted tulip bulbs in the bed,but is there any other way to stop them rooting them up,other than a net 20 yds long and 1yd wide.It is the same habit as turning over cowpats to find grubs.

Try some fishing line on sticks 6"  off the ground .

Although effective, I've heard that birds can get caught in fishing line, so I would personally avoid using it.

Thanks for the help '8 Doubles'.I have pushed 3 rows of short canes into the bed and used some 14lbs breaking strain fishingline criss crossed and along the rows of canes. It looks good.My motto is if it looks right it probably is!If Jim Crow gets stuck in the line then by the time I've finished with him he won't again. I will keep my fingers crossed now.
