Might be a daft question  but I just got all my seeds delivered

The instructions on some of them say 'sow in warm soil at 18-21C' (such as squashes, sweetcorn etc) - does this mean sow in an electric propogator?

Our house is at that temperature, no need for extra assistance as far as I'm concerned.

I use one because my old house gets quite cold at night  and there is no airing cupboard to start things off in.

But don't be tempted to start them off anytime soon. Once germinated they grow surprisingly quickly...be warned

Quite so, I won't be starting either of those until Mid-April.
