Charlotte Seed Potatoes
« on: August 23, 2009, 14:28 »
Our local supermarket are currently selling-off Charlotte potatoes at 59p a Kilo. They are past their sell-by date.

Are these any good for keeping as seed for next season? I know that I will not be able to by seed potatoes at that price!!!

Thanks

1 - I doubt they would keep as they will already have been abused as far as storage is concerned by the supermarket.

2 - Run the risk of passing on diseases at your own peril. You could become the most unpopular person on your site overnight.

It has been discussed before, but there are good reasons why we go to the trouble of having certified seed spuds.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
