Separate from the others as they might try pecking her wound.
ask person if anything seemed amiss in your absence

Second the salt water to clean. It is probably blowfly who lay eggs in pooey bottoms and hatched maggots then feed on animal prevalent in rabbits and sheep and very painful. Hope she goes on ok. :(
Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted!!

thank you she seems a bit better today, but i will wash with salt water as advised
the person who looked after them said all was fine nothing unusual, but i knew straight away something was wrong! guess you just get to know your hens?

Do a deep clean of the house/run area and bin/burn the stuff you use inside the coop.

we had this with a pet rabbit once  :(

check her thoroughly

make sure there are no more maggots inside her vent

use a luke warm not to strong jet of water to rinse her vent inside to make sure their all out - could adapt a cleaned out washing up liquid bottle for this or if you don't mind taking her indoors the shower head would do a good job

make sure its not to hot though

I always wash my girls bottoms if they are mucky to avoid this problem

A syringe used gently is good for this  :)
