We have been offered the use of a field right next to our own small garden.  Having never done anything like this before we are looking for advice before we start planning, working the ground and putting in raised beds.  Any advice gratefully received.  Thank you!

most important question first - how big is the field?

Next up - what are you hoping to achieve?  Semi self sufficiency, ground for animals, selling produce?

have not got exact size of field yet....fair size for what we intend to use it for, runs full length of 6 houses gardens along our street, plan to use around half of it.  We want to put in raised beds so we can  grow veg, herbs and some flowers. We also plan to put in a compost area and have found out where we can put in a hose for watering.   Any advice is welcome. We have never done anything like this before and are hoping to hear from anyone with experience! Any do's and dont's welcomed!
