home made bee hotel
« on: October 21, 2014, 22:59 »
Now having seen some of these for sale on Amazon for "How much?????" You are extracting much urine, and having much junk to clear up from the plot. I decided to scratch some of my anatomy and come up with a cunning plan.
Many old canes. A hunk of plywood and some left over roofing felt was soon dragged into the meister of the shed's shed and a couple of hours later I emerged with this little darling.
Even the nails were salvaged from dead pallets.
Total cost Nish

Yes the sad fact is that lots of folk don't seem to mind paying what I would call silly money for something they could, with a bit of thought and effort, knock up for themselves.

Nice looking bug hotel there, shedmeister  :D :D

and as you say, all for nil cost apart from your time  :nowink:

If anyone wants to have a go at making their own I am more than happy to send them dimensions and instructions. I do have a well kitted shed but simple basic tools are all that are needed.
I hope to make some ladybird and butterfly homes in the near future and will post some pics of these when done.
Sunshineband. The time spent was a bonus gain as I was out of the way from the one who thinks she is obeyed and not under her feet as usual.

Its simple. We just say that you are right all of the time. If you are right it keeps you happy. If you are wrong you have the happy thought that we are just daft unknowing old sods thus even happier.
We goes down our sheds and giggle.

That is brilliant.

Will show Mr Bee when he has decorated the upstairs bedroom, gutted the bathroom and tiled and decorated, decorated the living room and dining room when the builders have finished and made the raised beds for the snowdrop collection.

I am she who must and will  be obeyed. ::)
I will be doing the unskilled labouring and the grouting.

But afterwards a bug hotel looks great.
