Mine, hopefully will be put into individual pots and left in the cold greenhouse.  They would probably rot at the moment if put even in a raised bed but I do like to get them in earlier rather than later so into the greenhouse they go.

I haven't even sown my shallot seeds yet ....

Me neither. I was thinking of doing it sometime soon though. It gets confusing when you read on the seed packets to sow in May!
Mine will be figaro - a banana shallot.  Sowed now this time last year and grew to a good size and have kept really well.  Might be just a few days behind this year

Like Totty mine are in pots but in a cold frame at the moment.  Roots just starting to appear at the bottom of the pots and a very small shoot at the top.  I intend to put them out under a plastic cloche when the very windy weather is past.

Sounds like some of you guys put yours in before Christmas?

Talking to yourself maybe MAD, but at least I know what I mean.

Put mine in about a week after Christmas

If the weather stays awful for a while, it's going to be ages before the soil is good enough to plant them out so may have to pot them on if push comes to shove.

My saved bulbs usually go straight out into the garden towards the end of this month (they didn't enjoy being under the snow very much last March, and there were one or two losses, but they did pretty well in the end.)  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Had mine in the ground for a fortnight or so under fleece with some garlic. Reading everyone else's comments i am feeling brave or foolhardy. They are in a raised bed so hopefully not too wet!!

Cheers HH
Keep digging

Mine are in pots in a cold frame they have shoots and some roots are appearing through the bottom.  I'm in no hurry to get them out.  They're likely to go out in the next couple of weeks.
