scabby Plums
« on: July 21, 2012, 11:59 »
I have brown/grey scabs on my green plums, so not yet ripened.

Can you tell me what it is please and can I still eat the plums?

Was looking forward to making plum jam from my own fruit this year :(
Happy Gardening.

It's often a mark made when heavy rain/hail bruises the skins - just cut all the brown bits off when you harvest  ;)

who you calling Scabby? Oh, oh I see, sorry.   :nowink: ::)

as Mum says, just cut those bits off - no problem
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required
