Getting evil eyes from Alphie again
« on: March 20, 2015, 17:30 »
Oh boy I am in his bad books again

He only has one spur as the one on his other leg never grew and very proud of it he is too, but it was curling back towards his leg, so he had to suffer the indignity of me catching him up to clip it.

Then I noticed how mucky his bum was where he has been getting in the nest box with one of his girlies at night, so he got a dunk in a bucket of warm water and a clean up on top.

To say the small white rooster is not amused just goes nowhere near describing the current mood he is in

I've blown it with the pair of them now

Foggy had a bit more of a John Wayne swagger than normal and on investigation, one of his spurs was curling sideways and catching on the other one as he walked.  He managed to snap one completely off last year, so I trimmed the really long one to match the regrown one.

He's not one for sulking, but I got a good telling off when I put him back down.  After having a good shout at me, he stalked off and glared at me from the other side of the run

They are solid nail Snowdrops and a devil to clip through, but no nerves or blood so it doesn't hurt them.  Well apart from their pride of course  ;)

Seramas are full of attitude and even though the pair of them are knee high to a grasshopper, they have the egos of a male ostrich

Oh I didn't realise that, I only had 2 + 2 for a short while & then we moved to a garden that isn't really suitable. We are moving again & I would like some more, maybe at the plot if I retire & stay close enough for it not to be a pain, but I did like them in the garden. Such characters :D

Dave had a proper telling off from Sevi yesterday too, he had left the gate open and a few chooks took the opportunity to make a run for the garden....all easily rounded up except Sevi who was so puffed up he couldn't remember where the gate was. So was grabbed and did he swear! For half an hour!
