Title: Marketmore cucumbers

Hi I'm growing cucumbers and have plenty forming and a couple of big ones, when is the right size to pick them, i presume they won't grow to the size of supermarket cucumbers, i have one that is about 5 inches long but not too fat is it ready?

Also should i pinch out the tops of the plants as with runner beans etc, when i think they are high enough to encourage the fruit to form better?

You could harvest them now, I've just looked at the seed catalogue and they reckon they grow to about 7" or so. I don't pinch the tops out.
