« on: October 08, 2012, 09:42 »
Does anyone know if Celery would be considered favourably  in a salad collection, say with toms, lettuce, and cucumber, it may seem a basic question but i don,t want to get a "NAS "card, Thank you,

I consider celery to be a salad crop, so I'de include it.  But it may be good forward planning to take another crop in case some 'jobsworth' objects. ???

Cheers,   Tony.

Just dug out my copy of the Royal Hort' Soc' Show Handbook!

Page 9 - "Unless otherwise specified in the schedule, a dish of the undermentioned vegetables must consist of:

Celery (in collections) 4.  For Single dish, 2.

Page 37 "In collection classes the specimens are enhanced by a display on a backboard".

You can't be clearer than that!   Good luck,   cheers,    Tony.
