Would it be okay to cover carrots with fleece instead of Enviromesh to protect against carrot fly?

I always use fleece.  You just need to check it regularly for holes.

Yeah, its what people have done for years before enviromesh was invented.

So I dont see why not.
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !
