Since I planted my pencil-thick leeks sometime around the end of June with some BFB, they are doing well but wondered if I should add any additional feed such as chicken manure pellets or a general liquid fertiliser just to help them bulk up.

Goosey, we use liquid manure mixture once a week, and flood each plant.

Our concoction is made from a bag of 6x, hung in a 25 gallon water butt, and the barrel also has some quite a lot of comfrey and nettle water. We then uses roughly 50% this stuff, and 50% rainwater. They seem to love it, and you still have time, as leeks will continue to grow for several weeks!

Stand well back though, it pongs substantially..;0)

Thanks Mr.G - will do. It was Mr.GG's comment about our leeks possibly being ready earlier than usual that prompted me to think it might be a good idea. I will use a mix of pellets and liquid tomato feed and may as well bung some on my beetroot, carrots and sprouts just for good measure!
