Easter meals
« on: March 30, 2018, 15:57 »
Just being nosey really here, but I got asked so many times for turkeys/turkey crowns at work yesterday, I'm curious how many people eat it for Easter.   I always associate lamb with this time of year and I have treated us to a leg of lamb to cook on Sunday.

So what are you having ?

Well it’s our daughters birthday on Easter Monday but she’s on nights so as she’s got the day off in lieu on Sunday we’re celebrating then, she requested a roast or pasta. So I’ve gone with chicken parmigiana with hm pasta & for afters an Apple rose tart, there might be some Tiffin/rocky rd with mini eggs atop if I get that far as an alternative pud/ take home instead of Easter eggs this year as granddaughter is bound to get loads of Easter eggs(not from us) so they’ll not want more.

I've also always associated lamb for Easter but as we've been invited to PIL
they have apparently decided on turkey, not my favourite but as antibiotics act on my like an appetite suppressant I won't be eating much anyway so the lamb can wait until I've got my appetite back.  We have had hot cross buns today and fish for dinner so have kept up that tradition.

We usually have lamb too (turkey = Christmas in our house) but one of the folk coming for lunch doesn't enjoy lamb so we have beef, done in ginger, rosemary, honey and cider, with the usual range of veggies from the plot and stores. Smells good in the oven  :D

Yummy lamb.  I would normally have lamb for Easter but I am away for Easter this year in my in laws holiday cottage which doesn’t have very good cooking facilities so we are going to a fish restaurant for dinner doesn’t feel like Easter.

Roast duck for us this evening, and some rather nice Rioja to help us ignore the deluge we are expecting, again!
